Geographical missions
Geographical Missions are practical activities and reflections designed to raise awareness creatively and engagingly about geographic education among both children and adults. The main goal is to reawaken collective interest in geography, presenting it as a dynamic and fascinating discipline capable of transforming our perception of the world and everyday life.
The heart of the project is the “missions”: small daily tasks to be carried out in different places, times, and ways. These activities are distinguished by a fresh and sometimes ironic writing style, designed to make geography accessible and fun. The missions range from reorganizing the home pantry to rediscovering one’s neighborhood by bicycle, from discovering a city street to performing in a city park, demonstrating how geography is intrinsically linked to our daily experience.
Collaboration and Project Development
The “Geographical Missions” project, conceived and curated by Giovanni Donadelli, is the result of a collaboration between the Museum of Geography of the University of Padua and the Italian Association of Geography Teachers (AIIG). Both institutions share the goal of promoting widespread and conscious geographical culture. Thanks to the commitment of the team working on it, the portal offers valuable resources for educators, students, and enthusiasts, contributing to spreading a new geographical awareness through practical and engaging activities.
