Digital collections
For several years, the Museums of the University of Padua have initiated a process of digitizing their heritage, in line with national and international directives.
The archiving of digital data is fundamental not only to ensure effective knowledge, management, and conservation of assets but also to enhance them through modern platforms for online dissemination.
In some cases, the Museum of Geography has managed to integrate digital collections into online exhibitions. Here are the references.
Virtual Exhibitions
Travelling Maps
A virtual exhibition presenting a selection of geographical maps and atlases donated to the Museum by Armando Morbiato. The spatio-temporal trajectories of these works, from the moment of their publication, have been revealed thanks to the meticulous cataloging work of the University Library Center.
The exhibition, originally displayed in December 2021, has been redesigned for the web and translated into English, with the aim of engaging a global audience in a dialogue on the mobility of printed objects and ideas.
