FOR SCHOOLS

The Museum of Geography at the University of Padua, with over twenty years of commitment to geographic education, has passionately built its educational offerings for schools of all levels. Each year, the museum welcomes more than 300 classes, offering workshops that blend theory and practice for dynamic and engaging learning.

Through collaboration with the Italian Association of Geography Teachers (AIIG), the museum offers a variety of educational experiences that involve its rich collections and stimulate critical and creative geographical thinking. The activities, adapted for each school level, cover crucial topics such as climate change, cartography, globalization, and much more.

The offerings are structured into three types of proposals:

  • Guided Tours, which allow visitors to explore and delve into the entire museum experience.
  • Educational Workshops, which offer activities to be carried out at the museum or school.
  • Educational Adventures, which involve outdoor activities, even outside the province.

Download the PDF with the complete Educational Offer, or browse through our proposals, starting from the school grade to discover how the Museum of Geography can enrich your students’ educational journey, offering them an authentic and stimulating contact with the discipline of geography.

How many classes together?

The museum isn’t very large, and we’ve decided that when school groups visit, it should be entirely at their disposal!

To ensure the best experience, we can therefore accommodate simultaneously:

  • only one class, if they have chosen to participate in a didactic workshop
  • two classes, if they have both chosen to take the guided tour.
Proposals to combine with the visit

Classes booking a museum experience can also participate in one of the following activities:

Where to eat

While the museum itself does not have lunch facilities, we’re happy to suggest alternative locations for your class.

For outdoor dining in good weather, the Arena Gardens (800m north) or Prato della Valle (1km southwest) are excellent choices.

For all-weather lunches, the Cloister of Saint Anthony (400m) at the Basilica of Saint Anthony provides a free “picnic wing” with tables and benches. You can also reserve a large, heated indoor room by calling the sacristy at 049.8242890. For the use of both spaces, there is no fee but a donation is appreciated.
