Inside Transformative Methods: Crafting Geographies of multi(species/spatial) Crises
14-15 Ottobre 2026 – Padova

Inside Transformative Methods – Crafting Geographies of multi(species/spatial) Crises
October 14-15, 2026 – Padua
Geography Museum, Via del Santo 26
Inside Transformative Methods is a space for dialogue and exchange around transformative geographical methods, understood as situated practices that bring theoretical reflection and concrete experience together to enact collective change. The event critically explores how, where, and with whom knowledge is produced amid the polycrises of the present, bringing research, arts, activism, and cultural organisations into conversation through theoretical contributions, dialogues, and workshops.
We seek to build new geographies together: imagining tools, weaving alliances, and bringing knowledge beyond academia and into the streets. The first day explores the street as a public, contested, and plural space, but also as a site of change, contestation, and reclaiming. The second focuses on geographical objects—artefacts, embroidered and assembled materials—and on the forms of knowledge that emerge through making.
A multisp(ecies/atial) perspective brings these dimensions together, attending to the different scales through which transformation unfolds and to the human and more-than-human actors who inhabit and reassemble spaces of crisis.
